SAP Integration and Certification Center Services
SAP has established SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) at three locations to support third-party software vendors worldwide. These centers are located in Walldorf, Germany; Palo Alto, California; and Bangalore, India. Through these regional centers, SAP offers a variety of services designed to help shorten implementation times, lower integration costs, and achieve compatibility with the infrastructure of customers using SAP technology. SAP ICC offers the following services:
Access to SAP Test Systems
For some partners, developing and integrating applications can become a resource - and time-consuming process. SAP facilitates integration development and testing by offering access to hosted SAP back-end applications for integration testing. Better yet, partners can access these test systems remotely to save even more money and time. The SAP Remote Access and Connectivity service offered by SAP ICC allows remote access to preconfigured SAP software for most integration-testing purposes. Subscribers to the service may chose between various access options (such as virtual private network or Internet) and subscription durations, and between a low-cost, shared system landscape and an exclusive environment that allows for extensive customization and system authorizations. SAP ICC specialists maintain these systems so that third-party vendors can focus entirely on the implementation of the integration rather than on maintaining an SAP test system. The service uses the extensive database of the Internet demonstration and evaluation system (IDES) and allows software vendors to test all SAP integration scenarios for which remote testing is technically possible. Third-party software vendors can access all necessary transactions and create their own test data in these systems.
Integration Assessment
SAP has developed a set of pre-defined integration scenarios to help software vendors to integrate their interfaces with SAP solutions or technologies. But not all third-party software can be integrated using these scenarios. So SAP ICC offers integration assessments that help software vendors design and develop new integrations – including information on how to use existing interfaces based on stable SAP-released interfaces.
Enterprise SOA road map assessment
SAP ICC offers partners and third-party software vendors an assessment service to help them scope the integration opportunities available with enterprise services. This service introduces the tools as well as the enterprise services currently available to third-party software solutions for integration with the SAP ERP 6.0 application.
Integration Consulting and Workshops
SAP ICC offers partners one-on-one consulting assistance, payable at a daily consulting rate. A typical day of integration consulting might cover any of the following items, depending on the partner's requirements:
- Usage of SAP integration technologies
- Usage of SAP integration tools
- "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" integration options
Integration Certification
Software solution providers can register their interface software to SAP solutions for testing and certification by an SAP ICC consultant. All such certified integrations are included in the online SAP partner information center for easy reference. Certifications are valid for a term of three years. After three years, SAP requires recertification to continue to use the benefits associated with the certification (logos, PIC listing, partnerships based on this certification—and more).
Service Packages
SAP ICC offers service packages for companies building ABAP Add-ons (ABAP Service Package) and for companies who want to stay current on generic SAP integration related topics (ICC Recertification Service Package). These subscriptions aim to make knowledge transfer and technical updates easier for the ISV community, to sustain successful integration implementations with our customers. | |  | | Resources
